Here is a guide to the best spots to catch the cherry blossom, and capture your next Instagram display photo! 1. Gangchon Rail Park (4/5) This scenic bike ride brings you across an overwater bridge, winding through barren trees, and this gorgeous line of pink cherry blossoms! A super scenic and romantic activity that you cannot miss! 2. Eden Cherry Blossom Road (6/5) Located away from the main city, this road of cherry blossom tree doesn’t come with the usual crowds. You get plenty of space to stroll and admire the flowers, and take pictures. Will recommend booking this as part of a day tour to Nami Island if possible. 3. Nami Island (4/5) Pro tip: Visit the island in the morning, before lunch if possible. At around 10am, you are among the first visitor of Nami Island - you will basically have the entire place to yourself to roam (like a private island!) and snap cherry blossoms pictures without anyone in it! When we left around 12noon the crowd really started to come in and the quiet atmosphere was gone. 4. Seokchon Lake (3/5) The ring of cherry blossom looks beautiful from the top, but this place is PACKED during the weekends. You will basically be knocking shoulders with the public, but those visiting Lotte World should definitely check this lake out, since they are located in the same area. 5. Garden just off Hongjecheon Waterfall (10/5) Just off the main centre of Hongdae is this serene man-made waterfall. Follow the dirt path, past running waters, and you will find this wonderful hill where tulips and cherry blossoms co-exist! We spotted mostly locals there - a great little hidden find that you won’t see in most cherry blossom guides! 6. Yeonnam-dong (3/5) Make plans to visit this hip area for its numerous cute cafes, then stay to check out this line of cherry blossoms! Cafes like Margaret even has a balcony that overlooks the pink tree - great vibes while sipping on a cup of coffee. 7. Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival (4/5) Probably the most famous viewing spot in Seoul - and it shows. The amount of people here is insane, but it also has the highest concentration of pink trees (in my opinion). After admiring the flowers, you can also pop by the Han River located just next to it and enjoy a bowl of cup noodles. Or sit and take in the city skyline. 8. Gyeongbokgung Palace (2/5) You might probably be already visiting this must-see attraction in Seoul. Gyeongbokgung is one of the largest palaces built by the Joseon dynasty. We went here January 7, 2024. It was freezing cold but worth it! We rented hanbok at hanboknam so we could enter the palace for free. There was a ceremony when we got here but we didn't watch until the end. We took photos real quick then went home. Getting there: You can get off at Gyeongbokgung Station line 3 (Exit 5) or get off at Gwanghwamun Station line 5 (Exit 2). The changing guard ceremony at Gyeongbokgung palace is taking place everyday except for Tuesday at 10am and 2pm. This changing guard ceremony area no need to pay for admission fee. So you can come over and witness it for yourself. There is no dress code to enter Gyeongbokgung palace too. It is better you wear proper shoes because there is a lot of walking here. You can alight at Gwanghuamun station and walk over. #fallingseason Gyeongbokgung Palace, which creates an antique atmosphere with the combination of natural beauty and traditional houses, makes you fall in love with the charm the more you see it. It's great to be able to enjoy such a wonderful view in the city center. I also looked around Jipokjae, a traditional house with Chinese style, and looked around Hyangwonjeong Pavilion in the northern background of Gyeongbokgung Palace and Hyangwonji, a pond, and the atmosphere was really great. Just standing and looking at it made me feel refreshed.
