Banks Peninsula

The scenery is truly beautiful. Driving from Christchurch to the peninsula sometimes encounters winding and daunting road conditions (this is my first time driving in New Zealand). Follow the speed limit warning here and drive slowly. In any case, you will want to drive slowly or stop by the roadside to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Just an hour's drive from Christchurch you're in Akaroa. The town isn't so exciting for us, but the scenery on this peninsula is so beautiful. Drive on the main road and after entering Akaroa we stayed on this so-called “tourism route,” a long, winding route with beautiful views. If you have a full drive, you can play like we do: at the end of Akaroa, there is a small park on the right, turn left there, and then go up and down... The road becomes a gravel road. To the top you can either hike or follow a very steep and narrow gravel path to the bay. It’s really exciting!

The Banks Peninsula in Acaroa is a peninsula with a very beautiful landscape, with beautiful natural scenery of the Straits and beautiful scenery. The sea on the Banks Peninsula often has dolphins and whales, and it is also a great place to watch whales and dolphins. Don't miss it.

Back from Christchurch, the weather is bright, through the most beautiful valleys, green mountains, blue sea and sky on Banks Peninsula, we enjoy the beautiful scenery, breathing fresh air, this is the real New Zealand.

Banks Island is a famous island in Acaroa. It is very quiet away from the city, just like a paradise on the sea. You can go to sea by boat from here. The rocks around the reefs are very strange. Some are like animals and some are like people. You can enjoy them.
