Japan's best lacquer production area in the depths of Iwate Prefecture
A shop that sells lacquer from Johoji, which boasts the highest quality in Japan, on a hill in the mountains in Ninohe City, Iwate Prefecture. You can also have a workshop where you can arrange vessels and tableware called Johoji lacquer, and draw your own lacquer pattern. About 2 hours drive from Morioka City. A little climb from the Drip House, you will find Johoji Temple, which is said to have spread lacquer first in Japan.
