The site is rebuilt from the residences left over from the Dutch rule of the 18th century. Visiting the site, the hospitable host will tell you which period the different styles of the building come from, and tell you about the people's lives in the residence. The residence offers several books on the reconstruction project and the history of Malacca, as well as manuals and maps on walking tours and self-guided tours.
