Royan le Verdon
Quite an expensive ferry compared with others, and you are not able to pre-book this ferry online! Also watch out for the queues in peak-season. Earliest departure at 7:45!
Shorter than expected!
After reading other comments, i really hesitated to drive all the way from Pauillac to Verdon (about an hour) to cross the sea and reach La Rochelle later. We arrived on Sat 6th Aug 2022 at around 4....
Smooth sailing
I am prone to seasickness and was very leery about taking this ferry across the Gironde in order to save a long road trip to Bordeaux. The ride itself was about 25 min across rather smooth, calm water...

On holidays... Pass is essential to access Soulac on sea from the Paris region, but also to go to Royan activities. Think to take 10 Passes if jam...

2h30 p.m. wait in cars to take on board (to avoid a turning of 1h45) 45 min to take on board and make the crossing ... balance 47€ !
