It is located in Motomachi Park at the foot of Mt. Hakodate. Due to the arrival of Kurofune at the end of the Edo period, the magistrate's office was placed here when the port of Hakodate opened with Shimoda, but there was only a monument that said "the site of the Hakodate magistrate's office", and there was no explanation board, so I felt a little lonely.

Hakodate magistrate's office in the center of Goryokaku. Before such a magnificent fortress was built, there was a magistrate's office on a hill in Motomachi (present-day Motomachi Park) overlooking the harbor. A place that can be seen far away is easy to aim from a distance. It's a place where there were many fires, and it seems that we couldn't protect safety here. Even so, the source of transfer is smaller than the scale of the destination. It's interesting to visit when you know the history.

元町公園にある「函館奉行所跡」

旧函館区公会堂前の元町公園にある箱館奉行所跡の碑です。函館奉行所は元治元年(1864)五稜郭に移転しました。箱館の開港当時の奉行所は箱館山のふもとにありましが函館港に入港する外国の軍艦からも丸見えの場所だったため移転しました。

この場所はちょっとした公園となっております

今となっては函館市の公園としての機能があります。 ちょっとした看板などがこの場所にございました。かつてはちょっとした戦争がございました。
