Huagai Street Cathedral is a product of colonial period, Gothic style of architecture, built near the sea, this whole white church, beautiful appearance, because there are many similar styles of architecture, the church is near Georgetown.
The church is very close to the hotel we stayed in, just at the entrance of Love Lane. There was no one passing by. A sweeper inside greeted us to enter. Entering the hall, there are two white statues of celestial beings in the doorway. They have plates in their hands. They are convenient for Christians to do good deeds. The hall is very quiet, the white environment is very elegant, when there is a big pipe organ on the door. The only disadvantage is that when one side of the exterior building is damaged, it affects the visual effect, which is a little regrettable.
The ancient church is one of several colonial buildings in the sea area of Penang. The Gothic elegant appearance, solemn and quiet, accompanied by the coconut wind and sea shadow is extremely beautiful.
The cathedral was founded by Father Cano in 1786 and moved from Church Street to Huaxue Street in 1857. Today's church buildings are built by Father Manisu.
Huaxue Street Cathedral is a small white Protestant church opposite Guangming Street on the basis of St. George's Cathedral. Founded by Sir Francis, the same people who founded Cornwallisburg in Penang, the walls of the church embedded history. There are two bell towers, an altar and a pipe organ.
On the north entrance of Love Lane between Blue House and Penang Museum, there is a quiet courtyard and several white Gothic buildings. It's the Cathedral of the Catholic Penang diocese. Several times, there are believers doing their homework. The majority of believers are Chinese. The scenery is very beautiful.
