Hidden Gem
We were surprised to find a beautiful old mansion with great views. It's still in use as an inn and conference center.
A lovely location
We went here twice. The webstie said that the mansion was only open on Sundays until 5PM on Sundays. At 4:20, it was closed, but a state employee told us that it was open daily on the first floor. ...
Beautiful to get away!
Loved doing the orienteering courses and just spending time in the natural beauty that is this space. A lot of winding and turning to get to the ed center in the middle, but totally worth the drive! ...
State Park - always something going on!
Beautiful valley views from former carpet magnate's mansion. Now a State Park- lots of wildlife, lots of planned events- concerts, shows, house tours, flower and plant sales, seasonal decor.... etc.. ...
Field trip with first graders
Interesting trip for the youngsters. The park rangers were very good with the 5, 6, 7 year olds I was chaperoning.
