History of the Old Ghan Train
We stopped here for a brief visit on our way to board The Ghan train heading overnight to Darwin. The Museum was closed but we could get photos of one of the historic trains displayed outside.

Located at the Transport museum south of Alice about 5 minutes drive from the gap. There are several carriages kept in reasonable condition showing what life was like onboard. In the museum area there...
This was such an eye opener of how these trains worked. The carriages are still in great condition. Would have been so hard to work is such little spaces but that kitchen is amazing.
Great to see so many Artifacts from the ‘Golden Age of Train Travel Amazing collection and well worth a visit but factor in a good 1/2 day to do it justice

Great History Lesson
Interesting to see and hear how the railway was brought to Central & South Australia. Not a lot to see but what there is, is certainly worth a visit.

Fascinating
