a pleasant day-walk with many scenic views

We walked about 18km, according to Strava. It felt much less. The scenery was stunning in the morning light. So many waterfalls; such clear water; such beautiful tree coverage with autumn colours. ...

    The autumn leaves were beautiful.

It is a waterfall in the back of Sandankyo. As this area is named Sandankyo, I think this Sandan Waterfall is one of the highlights. It takes about 30 minutes to walk from the toll parking lot at Mizunashiguchi to access. Is the sidewalk well maintained, or it may be difficult for those with disabilities because the ups and downs are large in the first half. Although the waterfall has no head, it has a depth and looks dynamic when viewed from the front. It was the autumn leaves season, so behind the waterfall ...

I visited from the viewing platform. It felt like I was visiting an unexplored region, and it was nice to take a deep breath while listening to the sound of the waterfall. Due to the impact of the landslide, the end of Sandan Waterfall was prohibited from entering. It was a pity that I couldn't go near the waterfall.

The waterfall that falls into three steps, the time of the new green cherry blossoms and autumn leaves is wonderful!

It is a magnificent waterfall representing Sandankyo, one of the five major landscapes of Sandankyo. The size of the basin is one of the largest waterfalls I have ever seen in Japan. The season of autumn leaves and the season of fresh green will impress the landscape. It takes less than 2 hours to climb from the front entrance of Sandankyo to Mizunashiguchi, about 30 minutes on foot from Mizunashiguchi to Sandan Taki, and about 30 minutes on foot from Mochikiguchi upstream to Sandan Taki. During the Saturday, Sunday and season, there is a microbus connecting the front entrance and Mizunashi exit through the national highway. Front exit ...
