Agios Nektarios Monastery

The monastery of Agios Nectarios is located on the island of Ayina, 6 km from the center of Ayina Town. It is the most important religious building in the area. It was established between 1904 and 1910 by Bishop Nectarios, who died in 1920. The church has two tall bell towers and four-story windows, covered in red arches, and beneath the monastery is a magnificent church dedicated to the memory of Agios Nectario. The monastery has two chapels, which are actually the site of the tomb and sacred objects of Agios Nectario, and is open to the public.
