Edgewater is located in a nice little spot on Davenports east shore, right on the river and heritage coastal walk. The room was spacious and clean, and I loved the little breakfast packs. Very convenient to the Spirit of Tasmania makes it a great spot when travelling to or from the main land.

No reception area. Great for Spirit of Tasmania travelllers

Great room with ensuite which had everything we needed..a jug, teabags, fridge with milk. We arrived after check in and managed to get an email sent to them from onboard the Spirit of Tasmania ferry 1.5 hours before they closed reception. Unfortunately we didn't hear back and just turned up hoping to somehow get into our room. This caused me some anxiety as it was getting late but thankfully there were other people also off the ferry so we were able to find the lock not which had a note for us on it to call security who would let us in. The hotel didn't have our cell number to text the directions for after hours..but an email should suffice. Our phones were not working in Australia at the time. It turned out fine but caused anxiety late at night. The room was great.

Excellent location. The motel room we stayed in did not look like images on internet. For money I paid was good value. Small basic motel room but clean.

Quiet room and comfortable with all you need to feel good. Receptionist very friendly too.

Nice clean motel and handy position to the Spirit of Tasmania

The motel by the pier is suitable for passengers who travel between Tasmania and Victoria by boat. There is no front desk service in the hotel at night. Based on the received email or text message, enter a glass door in the compound and open the mailbox to get the door key with the name of the order written on it. It is a bit of treasure hunting fun.

The room is clean and tidy

Very convenient to stay if you have an early morning sailing. It was certainly very adequate for that purpose altho on this occasion the bistro/pub was closed which was inconvenient.

It was great and getting a free upgrade was cool. Shame there's nothing within walking distance for dinner, but otherwise lovely.

Stayed here to catch early morning ferry. Needed to be nearby as we had to leave our hire car at the airport (phone the local taxi company number in the room guest book to travel the short distance back from the airport - there is no taxi rank or even taxi number out there). Easy 15min walk to terminal, though signage not great for foot passengers. We had a nice room facing out to water, well equipped and clean. On a Sunday night hotel bar and cafe closed and not much nearby if you have no car to go out to eat. Useful shop on corner to ‘self cater’. Hotel worked well for us and we’d definitely stay again.

The stay was great. Check-in was after hours and quite late, still it went smooth & easy. The room was clean with all the amenieties. There was hardly any disturbance; it was quiet. The location was perfect to drop the car hire & get on the Spirit of Tasmania. Highly recommended.

This place doesn’t impress from the outside and the lack of a human presence between 4 pm and 10am is strange to say the least in a hospitality venue. However the check in and out was without incident. The whole place was extremely clean and quiet. There was a breakfast pack provided and the Spirit berth was a hop skip and a jump away. The incoming ship provided a reliable wake up call.
