Weizhen Pavilion was built in the sixth year of Longqing in Ming Dynasty (1572 AD), and it has been destroyed and built several times in the past few hundred years. Rebuilt in 1997, it is a three-story octagonal pavilion, covering an area of 9 acres and 57.88 meters high. It is located on the bank of the Jiulong River, looking at Zhangzhou Fucheng, and responds to the Weizhen Pavilion built on Zhishan. The main building has carved beams and painted buildings, colorful paintings and mahogany carvings are unique and lifelike; there is the first hall of "Chinese Lantern Riddles" in the building, which houses the "National Essence No. 1 Duanyan" and more than 10,000 pieces of Chinese and foreign lantern riddles. The current Weizhen Pavilion is still a 3-story, gossip-shaped building, but its scale far exceeds that of previous dynasties. The main building is nearly 52 meters high, tall and elegant, yet unrestrained, with extraordinary momentum and profound meaning. On the left and right sides of the front pavilion of the main building, there are delicate and exquisite triangular pavilions, quadrangular pavilions, and scattered flower beds, among which famous flowers and different grasses compete for fragrance and vitality. The protective corridor is composed of exquisite relief sculptures, which vividly show the famous flowers and scenery all over Zhangzhou, which can be called the epitome of the essence of Zhangzhou's scenery. The mountain gate consists of two 7.35-meter-high, 1.2-meter-diameter and two 6.35-meter-high and 1.1-meter-diameter embossed Jiulong Hua'an jade pillars. The lintel of the mountain gate "Weizhen Pavilion" has three large iron hooks with silver hooks. The masterpiece of calligrapher Qigong. There is a stone lion carved from a whole piece of Nine Dragon Bi weighing 28 tons on the left and right of the mountain gate. The craftsmanship is exquisite and vivid. In front of the mountain gate is a small square, and at the end of the square is an antique Weizhenge Commercial City that blends in with the style of Weizhenge. In order to improve the cultural taste of Weizhen Pavilion, the Xiangcheng District Government will move the Zhangzhou Lantern Riddle Art Museum, which is known as the "First Museum of Chinese Mystery History" at home and abroad, into the Pavilion. The pavilion has added a lot of color.
