Former Residence of Su Song

The former residence of Su Song, also known as Lushan Hall, is located behind Hulu Mountain in Tong'an District and consists of two parts: the front hall and the main hall. Behind the ancestral hall is the reconstructed Su Song ancestral hall, which contains a modern statue of Su Song. "Lushan Hall" is not only the former residence of celebrities, but also the ancestral hall of the "Lushan" Su family at home and abroad. So in 1991, it was listed as a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit, and in 2001 it was listed as a cultural relic of Xiamen and Taiwan. The former residence of Su Song is backed by Hulu Mountain, and the door is adjacent to the Ximo Pond. Su Song Gaozu once settled here. The existing "Lushan Hall" was rebuilt later, and the former residence has a sitting statue of Su Song, a genealogy of the Su family, and portraits of eight famous people who are descendants of the Su family. In the newly built Su Song Science and Technology Museum, his achievements as a statesman, diplomat, astronomer, pharmacologist, writer and historian are displayed. There is also a model of the world's first astronomical clock "Water Transport Instrument Observatory" pioneered by Su Song. There was a pool in front of Lushan Hall, where Su Song washed inkstones when he was studying, so he called the pool "ink washing pool". Now only the stone tablet with "ink washing pool" written on one side is left.
