United States Military Academy West Point is very famous military academy with a long history. It is about 80km north of New York City. Established in 1802, it used to be an anti-British base, hence its name. The cannons by the river, the bronze statue of Eisenhower, and the statue of General Patton holding a pair of binoculars are all great photo spots. In the highland of West Point, facing the Hudson River, there is the Battle Monument, which commemorates the deceased soldiers of the American Civil War.
