The Martyrs' Shrine is a place where the heroic spirits of the martyrs who defended the country who fought bloody battles against Japanese thieves to protect the safety of the Busan area during the Imjin Japanese rebellion were enshrined. The Imjin Japanese Rebellion was Japan's aggressive war against Korea to expand its territory during the Warring States Period. At that time, South Korea had little understanding of Japan's strategic intelligence. By using a new weapon, the shotgun, to fight back, South Korea still generously sacrificed itself to defend the motherland despite being outnumbered. This ancestral hall was established in 1605 (38 years of Xuanzu), when Yin Xuan, the envoy of Laefu, built the shrine of Song Xiangxian, Duke Zhonglie, in the south gate of Dongnae-eup at that time. In 1624 (the 2nd year of Renzu), it was named the Martyr's Shrine, and together with it, the spiritual seat of Duke Zhongzhuang was enshrined. In 1652 (the 3rd year of Emperor Hsiaojong), the Martyrs' Shrine was moved to its current location to commemorate and cherish the heroic spirits and spirit of seeing death as home of the martyrs. Later, in 1733 (35 years of King Sukjong), Duke Zhonglie and Duke Zhongzhuang died in battle together with Zhao Yinggui, governor of Yangsan County, Dongnae professor Lu Gaibang, scholar Wen Deqian, Liang Chaohan, general Song Fengshou, military officer Jin Xishou, and concurrently. By extension, the tablets of Ru Lu, Song Bo in the township, and Jin Xiang of the government were also enshrined in other officials. In 1736 (the 12th year of Yeongjo), the spiritual tablets enshrined in Bethshi were placed together in the Martyrs' Shrine. In 1772 (the 48th year of Emperor Yingzu), under the recommendation of Yin Xingxin, the envoy of Da Dazhen, in order to mourn the patriotic spirit of Song Xiangxian Gong and General Zheng Biao, an ancestral hall was built outside the east gate of the Martyrs' Shrine. Since then, the Martyrs' Shrine has been rebuilt and restored several times, and it now has a scale of 28,300 ping. In addition to the main hall, there are 10 buildings in total, which enshrine the 91 martyrs who sacrificed to save Busan. On the 25th, the citizens of Busan will come here to worship.
