Ritsurin Garden Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Kagawa Island
Absolutely beautiful park with many different areas and features, such as a lilypad pond, a lotus pond, many cherry trees and water features, as well as a ton of beautiful koi fish that you can feed.

Ritsurin Garden (栗林公園, Ritsurin Koen)
Ritsurin Garden (栗林公園, Ritsurin Kōen#staycation #themepark , super nice park at Takamatsu Kagawa Japan.
The Ritsurin Garden symbolizes the prime of "encircled garden" during the Edo period. Whichever season you choose, different views are here for you. I love the Holding Moon Pavilion most. It's a nice place to take a picture because pines, texture painted on small stones, pond and others in the park look very exquisite. I ordered a cup of steamed green tea and fruits to enjoy the scenery. I felt so good!
Mew Travel Lilin Park | Michelin recommended, Japanese garden in the painting
a place that is expected in this trip ~
Li Lilin Park began to build in 1642, spent 100 years Time is carefully carved, green mountains and green waters, one step at a time, each scene can constitute a quaint Japanese scroll.
We came early in the morning, there are still no people in the park, only occasionally seeing a few garden workers pruning plants. The sun is still obscured by the clouds, showing a blue-yellow, cool-toned picture, full of mystery, quiet and quiet, with an unreal feeling, thinking that he is still in a dream.
There are gradually a few sun rays coming in through the intertwined branches and leaves, and it has become another dreamy scene. It is really beautiful.
has six pools and thirteen rockeries, all of which offer a completely different style of view. The pine trees are particularly rich in variety, and they are elegant and classical. Many of them are two or three hundred years old, so they are so admired!
When you walked to the lake, there was a feeling of openness in front of you. The semicircular Lunar Bridge in the middle of the lake is reflected on the water. The boat is layered and layered. The level is full of Zen. There are many koi in the water. When people come over, they will look up and eat.
When you are tired, you will take a nap in the pavilion surrounded by the lake. The room in the tatami room is too pleasant. Matcha is accompanied by traditional Japanese snacks. This exquisite environment is worth staying all day, and the time goes by.

Naoshima Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Must go Chichu Museum- Naoshima
The Chichu Museum is in the southern part of Naoshima Island in Japan’s Kagawa Prefecture. It was designed by acclaimed architect Tadao Ando and opened to the public in 2004. The museum faces the Seto Inland Sea and was built mainly underground - as per the name in Japanese- to avoid conflict with the natural environment of the valley.
It is a contemporary art museum and exhibits works of art by Claude Monet, James Turrel, and Walter de Maria, and definitely a must visit museum for any art lovers.
To reach the museum, you can take the #2 bus from Miyanoura in Naoshima, and get off at the last stop- Tsutsuji-so. Then take the free shuttle from the same spot provided by the Benesse House . The bus ride to the museum is about 10 minutes.
Tickets should be bought online in advance, as the museum follows strict guidelines for entrance.
There is also a cafe inside the museum which serves simple lunch sets such as sandwiches, salad and soup. The sea view at the cafe is also amazing.

In search for the red and yellow pumpkins- Naoshima
Kusama’s pumpkins can be seen in many places these days, but definitely two very famous ones are placed in Naoshima.
These two pumpkins are displayed in different places on the island - the red is next to the pier in Miyanoura. You will not miss it as it is visible while you are still on the ferry. The yellow one- on the other hand- is next to the beach! To get there, you will need to take the number 2 bus (¥100) for about 15 minutes, and get off at the last stop. The bus stop is next to a small beach- look to the
Right end of the beach and you will find the yellow pumpkin. It will be 4-5 minutes to walk there.

Visit in time : Hiroshi Sugomoto Gallery- Naoshima
There is so much to see on Naoshima and we particularly liked the Hiroshi Sugimoto Gallery: Time Corridors.
The museum is at the foot of the hill from the Benesse House museums. If you choose to walk downhill from the Benease House , then you will definitely find it as there are clear signs on the road.
This museum has art work indoor and in the outdoor exhibition space. It is best to stroll quietly and be lost in time as you emerge yourself in the work of man and nature. The ticket even included a Japanese tea+ dessert to be enjoyed in one of the tea rooms.

Ogijima Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Kagawa·Ogijima | The cat residents on the island
Sunshine, island, leisurely cats
This is a small island in the Seto Inland Sea - Ogijima, also a famous 'Cat Island' in Japan. It takes 40 minutes by boat from Takamatsu Port, and there are only about 200 islanders, but you can see cats everywhere.
Perhaps they are used to living with the islanders, the cats here are not afraid of people at all, but will roll over and show their belly in front of you. If you prepare some cat snacks when you go to the island, believe me, you will be besieged by cats w
The whole island is not big, the islanders live along the slope, although the slope is complicated like a maze, but you can also see the scenery of the whole island and the beautiful Seto Inland Sea.
One of the must-go places is the 'House of Sunset and Cats', where the shop owner is also the administrator of the cats, Mr. Matsumoto. The shop is basically unmanned, but Mr. Matsumoto's phone number is left. If you need to order or drink, just call ~
Take a sunny afternoon, come to the island to see the sea view and stroke the cats, it can be said to be the ideal of life.

Takamatsu Port - Ogijima
Travel time: 40 minutes
Boat ticket price: 510 yen (260 yen for elementary school students and below)
Recommended play time: 2-4 hours
Ogijima Island
Location: Ogijima is an island in the Seto Inland Sea, in southern Japan. It is next to Megijima, a few kilometers at sea north of Takamatsu, in Kagawa Prefecture.
Getting there:There is a ferry operates every two hours between Takamatsu Port, Megijima and Ogijima.
Highlights: Ogijima is essentially a set of mountains poking out of the sea, with a single village and ferry terminal on the southern end and a lighthouse at the northern end separated by a forested interior. Visitors can walk to the lighthouse and its small accompanying museum in about 30 minutes from the ferry terminal on a pleasant, narrow road through the fields and forest.
Ogijima's only village is huddled up on the mountain slope overlooking the harbor. You can explore the charming village and walk among the wooden houses which are connected by a confusing network of narrow lanes.

Mew Travel Seto Inland Sea Art Festival Male Wood Island View and Passionate Islander
Every day, take a boat from Takamatsu Port to each island, each island has its own distinctive style, or The landmark building, of course, to the man wood island to go to the lighthouse to see.
After the boat, you will see a lot of cats. If you give them, they will be obedient, otherwise they will not take care of yours~
The mans island seems to have 18 Art works are scattered in all corners of the island. Follow the signs and look for them. Look at the sea and walk the mountain trails along the way. Many works are presented in the cabins on the island. It is very mysterious. .
The road to the lighthouse is very long. You will see all kinds of strange plants and creatures along the way. There is a sense of adventure. Until you reach the end, a large blue sea and lighthouse seem to give Our hard work goes so far, the scenery here is so beautiful!
Good luck is that when I return to the original road, I encounter an uncle who looks after the lighthouse to lock the door. Uncles character looks cool. In fact, he is very enthusiastic and invites us to take his car. Sudden surprise! Not only do you have to take a long way, but you can also enjoy the beauty of the place in a new way. So happy~ Thank you again, this uncle~ Hey!
Good morning, the second day of the exhibition in the Seto Inland Sea~
I dont think I will go to Naoshima, which has a big pumpkin in the haystack.
In fact, I am afraid that the festival people will not choose Naoshima Toshima. There was a particularly unpopular male wooden island and female wood island, so one person contracted an island, and only the cats who jumped to the side accompanied me.
Several islands in the Seto Inland Sea were particularly desolate. Young people ran to work in Osaka, Osaka, leaving only the elderly to live on the island. In order to revitalize these islands, the Japanese government invited many artists to come here to create, so it became the most literary place in Japan. A very utopian idea, the result is really successful~

Don't go to Tokyo, these smaller cities in Japan are more interesting!
I've been living in Japan for almost a year without realizing it. In addition to the well-known Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, I've also visited quite a few smaller cities. Here are some of my personal favorite small cities for those who are struggling to decide where to go (in no particular order)
⭕ Takamatsu
Takamatsu is the capital of Kagawa Prefecture in Shikoku, and it was the first place I visited on my trip to Japan 10 years ago. It has a famous nickname as the hometown of udon noodles, so you can enjoy various kinds of udon here. Also, the triennial 'Setouchi Triennale' art festival is an event not to be missed, and from Takamatsu Port, it's very convenient to travel to treasure islands such as Shodoshima, Naoshima, and Teshima.
⭕ Kochi
It could be said to be the most low-key capital city in the Shikoku region. This is the hometown of the anti-shogunate warrior Sakamoto Ryoma. During my half-day city walk in Kochi, I truly felt the city's tranquil atmosphere. Additionally, I particularly like Kochi's trams, which have super cute liveries.
⭕ Tokushima
Tokushima is also a place I visited on my first trip to Japan. The Awa Dance is a local specialty here, and you must see it. Also, the Iya Valley is a great place to escape the summer heat.
⭕ Onomichi
A small city facing Shikoku across the sea from Honshu, it has both mountains and sea, and cycling is very popular here. Cycling from Onomichi to Shikoku's 'Shimanami Kaido' is known as Japan's most beautiful cycling route. Ramen and oysters are local specialties here. Oh, and Yasujiro Ozu's famous work 'Tokyo Story' was also filmed in Onomichi.
⭕ Kanazawa
The largest city in the Hokuriku region of Japan. It is also a city with a 'high gold content.' Ninety-nine percent of Japan's gold leaf is produced here, so you can buy various gold leaf products, including food and drinks containing gold leaf. Additionally, one of Japan's three great gardens, Kenrokuen, is also located in Kanazawa.
⭕ Saga
Saga in Kyushu is often rated as one of the cities in Japan with the least presence. But after going to Saga, I fell in love with it. Saga's ramen and Wagyu beef are really delicious, and the key is that they are much cheaper than in big cities. A double portion of Saga beef for just over 5000 yen is incredibly tempting.
⭕ Hakodate
I've been to Hakodate twice, once in autumn and once in winter. Compared to Sapporo, Hakodate is much more interesting. From Mount Hakodate, you can see the million-dollar night view, and Goryokaku Park is a treasure with beautiful scenery all year round.
The romantic sunset at Takamatsu Port
👩🏻❤️👨🏻Takamatsu is an important transportation hub in Kagawa Prefecture. At Takamatsu Port, you can take a ferry to many small islands in the Seto Inland Sea for a day trip, such as Naoshima, Teshima, and Shodoshima. The picture 3️⃣⬆️ is the ferry terminal. Takamatsu Port is next to Takamatsu Train Station, so it's very convenient to travel around Takamatsu if you stay near the train station.
👩🏻❤️👨🏻The sunset at Takamatsu Port is very beautiful, with pink skies and blue sea, full of romantic atmosphere.
Takamatsu Castle Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Takamatsu Castle is a short walk from JR Takamatsu Station and directly next to Kotoden Takamatsu-Chikko Station, the terminal station of Kotoden Railways. Most famous dish of Takamatsu is Sanuki Udon
#wintergetaway
Typhoon days, all the shops were closed, Hokkaido toast was not eaten, and the noodle shop recommended by Oguri was not eaten. The Mitsukoshi department store was arbitrarily closed, and even the bus was stopped. Gao Song suddenly looked like An empty city.
I want to have a beautiful shape in front of the camera. I dont want to break the umbrella in the next moment. Its too hard!!
