Suzhou Yiyuan
Yiyuan was built in the late Qing Dynasty from 1874 to 1882. Gu Wenbin, the Ning Shao Tai Dao of Zhejiang, built it for nine years on the ruins of the old house of Wu Kuan, a minister of the Ming Dynasty, and spent 200,000 taels of silver to complete it. It was named Yiyuan, meaning 'brothers are harmonious', from the 'Analects of Confucius'. The garden was built under the supervision of Gu Wenbin's third son, Gu Cheng, with the participation of painters Ren Fuchang, Gu Yun, Wang Yun, Fan Yinquan, Cheng Tinglu, etc. Each stone and pavilion in the garden was first drafted, and then finalized after discussion with Gu Wenbin. After the garden was completed, many famous people in Jiangnan came to gather, and it was famous for a time. In the 21st year of Guangxu (1895), Gu Cheng's son Gu Heyi and Wu Da, Lu Lianfu, Zheng Wenzhuo, Wu Changshuo, etc. created the Yiyuan Painting Collection in the garden. In the mid-autumn of 1919, the owner of Yiyuan, in order to promote the culture of the guqin, invited more than 30 guqin players from Shanghai, Yangzhou, Chongqing, Hunan and other places to hold a guqin meeting in Yiyuan. After the meeting, Li Zizhao made a long scroll of 'Yiyuan Guqin Meeting', and Wu Changshuo made a long title of 'Yiyuan Guqin Meeting' to commemorate its prosperity. Gu Lianshi inscribed a poem on the 'Yiyuan Guqin Meeting', which says 'When the moon is bright and the night is quiet, come to listen to the guqin flowing in the jade stream', which was a good story at that time. The whole event wrote a new chapter in the history of modern Chinese guqin. Since then, the 'Yiyuan Guqin Meeting' has become a regular activity for guqin friends to gather. In 1935, guqin players gathered in Yiyuan to promote and exchange guqin, and guqin players proposed to establish the 'Jin Yu Guqin Society'. However, due to wars and social unrest, the Yiyuan Guqin Meeting gradually faded away. After Gu Heyi's death, the garden gradually declined. During the Japanese puppet period, the destruction was particularly severe, and the antiques and calligraphy and paintings in the garden were looted. In the 1940s, Yiyuan was full of various plays and became a place of amusement, known as 'Suzhou's Great World'.
Avoid several large gardens with a large number of people and a long-standing reputation, come to Yiyuan > Yiyuan was built in the late Qing Dynasty 1874-1882. The layout is natural, the pavilion and corridor are small and elegant, and the mountains and trees are sparse and pleasant, which can be called the boutique in the garden.
Very good, the most cost-effective! Minor gardens, there are many people everywhere during the Spring Festival, because of the niche, there are fewer people, and you can slowly taste the beauty of the gardens in the Jiangnan water town. Other public gardens are crowded and have no experience. The garden is small and exquisite, highly recommended!
Yiyuan can visit with the cloud building, are the rich businessman Gu Wenbin's house in the late Qing Dynasty. Yiyuan is one of the eight major gardens in Suzhou. Although the area is not large, its gambling garden, the pool in the garden, the rockery inlaid in the wall of the calligraphy master works of the past generations, the lake stone of various shapes... elegant and unique. Unfortunately, the garden of the plum has withered, but the red plum white plum has a sputum to be released, is also expected.
The memories of childhood are back, and before school, my grandmother will take me to play almost every two or three days, a very delicate little garden. There is a thousand-year-old ginkgo and a net red maple tree in the backyard. The maple tree really wants to boast that it is not the traditional red but the orange-red glazed. It also has light (˶‾᷄ ⁻̫ ‾᷅˵) It rains lightly on Sunday. The new people taking wedding photos in the park have more than five pairs. It also shows how beautiful the scenery is.
The transportation is very convenient. Get off at Leqiao Station of Metro Line 1 and Line 4, Exit 8, go straight for a few steps to the left hand side to Yiyuan.
