I&#39;ve visited this restaurant twice so far. Back in May I walked past this place and saw huge bouquets of flowers lined outside the windows. Curious to see what was going on, I popped in to see that this restaurant had recently been refurbished and they had just had their grand re-opening. As soon as I saw uni (sea urchin, pronounced as oo-nee rather than you-nee) and otoro (fatty tuna belly), which are two of my favourite sashimi ingredients ever, being advertised I thought &quot;sold!&quot; and knew I had to sit down and order some pure deliciousness. So during my first visit here, I ordered two pieces of otoro sushi, two pieces of uni sushi and a plate of zaru soba. Initially, when I opened up the menu and saw both the otoro and uni sushi priced at 15 Singapore Dollars (for two pieces), I did think &quot;Yikes, that&#39;s a bit on the expensive side!&quot; but I&#39;m glad I decided to go ahead and order these two types of sushi. The succulent pieces of otoro simply melted in the mouth like butter and the uni had a fabulously sweet taste and lovely creamy texture. If you want some very fresh and gourmet sashimi/sushi and don&#39;t mind splurging a little then I recommend you try the otoro and uni. The plate of zaru sabu, priced more reasonably, was very refreshing to eat and is highly recommended by me. The cold noodles had a good chewy texture and nice smooth mouthfeel with no horrible starchiness at all. The soba was served with a tasty bowl of mentsuyu, which is a soy sauce, sugar and mirin-based dipping sauce that you dip your noodles into and then slurp to your heart&#39;s content. I visited this place again in early June and this time ordered some grilled squid, potato croquettes, tako-su (a salad of slices of vinegared octopus, cucumber and wakame seaweed), pickles, sushi rice and miso soup. The newly renovated fish market/restaurant looks good as the old place needed a facelift. My lunch with my wife there was somewhat a let down. We went there on Sunday at about 11:30+ am before the lunch rush but still service was quite slow. Seems like they were short staffed with only 2-3 servers for an enlarged dining space. I ordered a chirashi bowl with some sashimi on the side. The sashimi was good and fresh, but the chirashi bowl was a disappointment. The sushi rice was clearly below what you would expect from a Japanese restaurant, and the slices of sashimi on the chirashi were thin -- even the tamago can probably be no more 2-3 mm thick (no joke). My wife order a set that came with udon soup ... and there was hardly any soup. She had to walk to the counter to top-up the soup as the servers were busy! No urgency to go back anytime soon ... standard seems to have dropped.
