Photos of Pre Rup temple

Bili Temple is located about 1.5 kilometers south of Dongmeiben. It was built in the same period as it. It is also a pyramid-like building, but on a much larger scale. This is the place where the ancient royal family performed the cremation ceremony to "transform into a god", so it is also called the transformation tower. The building of Biliu Temple is very high. When you climb up, you can see the forest in the distance. With a wide field of vision, it is one of the best places to watch the sunset at Angkor Wat. Due to the slightly remote location, there are not many tourists who go to Bili Temple to watch the sunset, but if you come for the sunset, it is recommended to arrive before 16:30 to find a good seat. When the sun gradually sinks into the virgin forest, the afterglow of the sunset shines on the red brick structure of Bili Temple, glowing warm red, beautiful and atmospheric. Play Guide Entering the Bili Temple from the main gate on the east, you can see a central hall standing on the three-story base of the Miaoshan directly opposite, surrounded by four pagodas. There is a square stone trough on the flat ground in front of the temple mountain, which is said to be the place where the body was cremated at that time, and there is a Tibetan scripture pavilion on each side. In the northeast corner of the temple there is a small room where the ashes are dumped after cremation. Climb up step by step along the steps on the front of Temple Mountain. The steps are very steep and heavily worn, so make sure to keep your feet steady when climbing and keep a certain distance from visitors ahead and behind. The view from the top of the temple mountain is very good, and the height is even higher than that of the virgin forest in the distance. While waiting for sunset, you can admire the exquisite reliefs on the central hall and the surrounding temple towers. The reliefs of the tower on the southwest side are well preserved, and you can see the goddess Lakshmi transformed into the face of a wild boar, and the four-faced wife of the god Brahma, Shavidri. On the southeast tower, there is a relief sculpture of Indra riding an idol. There are many neatly arranged holes in the walls of these towers, which are said to have been filled with precious stones.
