The temple was founded in 1895 by Lang Lama Qujidogje, and is a Tibetan Buddhist Ningma sect, containing an affiliated religious activity point and a Gesar Lion Dragon Palace. After the reform, it was opened in 1980 and built in the construction township, covering a total area of 9,000 mu (of which 38 mu of construction area, 8,662 mu of grassland area, 300 mu of fence area), 3 Jingtang, 70 rooms, 33 pagodas (of which 30 stone pagodas and 3 spiritual pagodas), and the main living Buddha of Chalang Temple is Dan Benima. There are 10 members of the Civil Administration, the total number of monks in 1958 is 300, the original living Buddha 14 (of which 8 live Buddhas are round and 6 live Buddhas are living), 1 newly reincarnated living Buddha, and 10 live Buddhas are identified by themselves. The current total number of monks in the temple is 301, the approved number of monks is 200, and the number of monks in the temple is 96. The monks in the temple are 5, the social monks and nuns are 65 (of which 15 monks and 50 nuns), and the poor monks are 22.
