phenomenal garden oasis in an unassuming suburban environment. the ambiance was lovely, the floor staff were warm and attentive (even to non-french speaking americans on our first michelin experience), and the kitchen was on point. as a high end american chef with 40yrs experience in fine french cuisine, the food was exceptional. from amuse bouche through the cheese service, everything was balanced, perfectly seasoned and spot on. nothing was overworked or heavy handed. chef seemed to be working within a very comfortable wheelhouse, not trying beyond his means to impress. the tasting menu looked lovely but we went a la carte. there were three of us and we had one of everything, full cheese and coffee service, bubbles, a damn fine côté du rhone, and nice japanese whiskeys just because we could, all for 515 euros. with exchange rate and an unnecessary, but well deserved tip, we got 4hrs of awesome for 200$/hd. can’t even scratch that experience for the money in the states. wouldn’t doubt it if this house is awarded a second star sometime soon.
