USC has one of the most extensive university community service programs in the United States. This was one of the reasons the editors of Time Magazine and the Princeton Review named it "College of the Year 2000." It is the largest private employer in Los Angeles and one of the largest in California. It also has more international students than any other university in the United States.Especially known for the high quality of many of its professional schools, its diverse alumni include: Neil Armstrong, Warren Christopher, Frank Gehry, George Lucas, Pat Nixon, General Norman Schwarzkopf and John Wayne.
