Masada is a Jewish holy site, one of the United Nations World Heritage Sites. It is located on a rocky hilltop at the junction of the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea Valley, about 25 kilometers north from EinGedi. Its eastern cliffs are about 450 meters high, from the top of the mountain, straight down the coast of the Dead Sea; the west cliffs are about 100 meters high. The top of the mountain is flat and in a convenient wedge shape, about 600 meters in length from the north to the south, 300 meters in width from the east and the west, and about 1400 meters in length from the surrounding city walls. The natural roads leading to Masada are extremely steep, the most important is the "Snake Path" on the east side.

Near the Dead Sea, there is a flat-rise rocky mountain. The eastern cliff of this rocky mountain is about 450 meters high, straight from the top of the mountain to the shore of the Dead Sea; the west cliff is more than 100 meters high. The rocky mountain is flat and roughly wedged; the north and south are about 600 meters long and the east and west are more than 300 meters wide. Above the top of the mountain, there are remnants of ancient palaces and castles, the ancient city of Masada, which has been more than 2,000 years old. The trail leading to the ancient city of Masada is extremely steep and is known as the “Snake Path.”

Masada National Park (Masada) is the palace castle of the Jewish king of the West Law, completely destroyed in the 1st century, the Jews have been scattered around the world, and now Masada has been reached as the place of the Jewish rite of passage and the New Army oath of the Order, "the spirit of Masada that never fell". It also becomes a common treasure for all mankind.

If you want to see the sunrise, you can live in the hostel at the foot of masada in addition to participating in the group. There is a bus from Ein bokek, but if you don't want to wait, Ein Bokek has a lot of private minibuses (about 10 people), about 25-30NIS one. You wait at the bus stop and they will ask if you sit or not, you should be able to pack this car to go to masada to watch the sunrise. There is no need to take the snake path, but this road will be closed in summer. The Dead Sea is below altitude and the temperature will be higher than the above altitude, so someone has died of heatstroke on the snake path before. Go up and remember to bring more water, and there will be a water dispenser immediately on the top. Overall, it’s spectacular, but you don’t feel much about the history of these places.

Because of the heavy rain road landslide, the road from the Dead Sea to Masada was broken, and I could only go around the old road and take another line. Who knows that when I was surrounded by mountain roads, I was going to arrive alive and dead, but I was told that it was late and it was going to close. God doesn't love me. Later I learned that in fact, the sky is in love with me, if it is not a landslide detour, you can't walk the old road, if you don't walk the old road, you can't see the masada masada rocky mountain top, proud of the Judean desert and the Dead Sea valley. This is why Masada successfully resisted the siege of Rome for three years, and why the Masada residents who guarded the earth and the earth burned their palaces and houses and committed suicide. What kind of spirit, what kind of history. Seriously recommend Masada, if conditions permit, such as self-driving, there is time, must drive the old road, a long distance to see the Masada between the world.
