There is a Sandamuni monastery opposite, which is a spirey pagoda. If you don't have time, you can choose one of the two. They are all similar pagodas.

Mandalay's Buddhist temples and pagodas are very numerous, and have not been affected by the war, but most of them have been stained with the vicissitudes of the years. Small parts are undergoing multiple renovations. Very magnificent and worth seeing.

Easily one of my favourite sights in Mandalay, this stunning pagoda is said to contain the world's largest book (the pages are marble slabs in small, individual temples). Located at the foot of Mandalay Hill, head in to admire the beauty and peacefulness of this temple.

It is claimed to be the largest group of stupas. It is only open to tourists for a small part, and most of them are not allowed to enter. It is estimated that there is not enough manpower to maintain it.
