Gawdawpalin Temple Review

The 60-meter-high Garde Palin Temple is one of Bagan's most majestic temples, whose name was originally meant to be "a platform for expressing the heart of reverence". The temple was built during the reign of Napa Badi and completed during the reign of Nadong Miya, and is considered to be the most brilliant achievement of Bagan's late stage.

The temple of Garde Palin contains the meaning of "the altar of worship" in Burmese. It is 55 meters high and is the second tallest pagoda in Bagan and the most representative pagoda in the late Bagan period. It was the king who ordered the construction to begin, but he died before it was completed, and his son King Htilominlo took over the two-story temple until 1227.
