It is preserved and exhibited as the remains of the Prefectural Assembly Building built in the Meiji period. Around the center of "Hakusan Park", you can reach it by going straight south on Higashibori-dori from Furumachi. The building nearly 150 years ago is modern and spirited.
It is a wooden Western-style building in a corner of Hakusan Park and is designated as a national important cultural property. It is said to be the only existing Capitol during the opening of the Meiji Prefectural Association. It was free to enter, but it was a very fulfilling exhibition. It seemed that there was a music appreciation event on the day, but due to the influence of Corona, it was a complete reservation system.
A building that was the former Capitol of the Niigata Prefectural Assembly, a nationally designated important cultural property in Hakusan Park, beyond the Showa Ohashi Bridge over the Shinano River. The inside of the building is free of charge, and successive prefectural ordinances and prefectural governors are introduced on panels. On the first floor of the building, the meeting hall at the time is reproduced, and the meeting hall can be seen from the audience seat of the second floor corridor.
It is the Niigata Prefectural Assembly Built in 1883. It is a very valuable building as a Western-style building in the Meiji era. In particular, the chamber was a very good building that made me feel the heat of the dawn of Japanese democracy.
