Stunning architecture 🏡 This amazing restaurant is one of the most famous ones in Switzerland.The location beneath the rock, the hike to the Restaurant is an unforgettable experience. Tip: Aescher restaurant is open from May to November. 2. Incredible Panorama views 🏔 The views from here are breathtaking . Admire the beautiful Swiss landscape while enjoying a delicious breakfast or lunch with typical fresh products from the Appenzell region 🧀 3. Combine your trip with a visit to beautiful Seealpsee 🌳 Seealpsee is one of the most beautiful lakes in Switzerland and I can highly recommend to visit it. If you love hiking and adventure hike the steep path from Restaurant Aescher to Seealpsee (approx 1h) Otherwise take the cable car back down to Ebenalp and walk to Seealpsee (approx 30 min) How to reach this amazing place? 🚂 🚠 Aescher is located approx 2 hours by train or car from Zurich. If you travel by train head to Wasserauen train stop and jump in the Ebenalp cable car just across the train station. We had booked the Red (small) boat trip and loved it. It takes you to opposite pier in 5 mins and then walk up to lookout. The boat would not reach waterfalls closely but it is still very impressive. The trip by boat right in front of the Rhine Falls is highly recommended. Only directly before the roaring floods do you get an impression of the power of the 600,000 liters of water per second, which plunge 23 meters over a length of 150 meters. I recommend the audio guide boat trip which lasts 30 minutes. The facts about the Rhine Falls are very interesting to hear and give a detailed insight into the formation and history. You can make booking online or buy ticket at ticket machine in the pier. Around noon it gets extremely crowded there. There is several routes with various element provided of price range up to CHF 17, you can find more info on their web.
