About Mudanjiang: Mudanjiang City is located in the southeastern part of Heilongjiang Province. It is named after the Mudan River, which flows through the city. The Mudan River is one of the tributaries of Heilongjiang Province's Songhua River. The main scenic spots and cultural sites that have been developed and utilized by Mudanjiang City include the Jingbo Lake Scenic Area, the Volcano Crater National Forest Park, the Mudan Peak National Forest Park and National Nature Reserve, the Xuexiang Ski Resort, the Statue of the Eight Women Crossing the River, the Hengdao Hezi Northeastern Tiger Forest Park, and, of course, the snow forts that are built yearly on the Mudan River every winter.
