Mangshi City is the seat of government of the Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan, PRC. The city is a transport hub between Ruili, Longchuan, Yinjiang, and Lianghe. It is also an important gateway to south and southeast Asia from China. Mangshi was the seat of the imperially recognized Dai tribal leader, and today members of the Dai, Han (ethnic Chinese), Jingpo, Palaung, Achang, and Lisu peoples live here. Famous attractions include the Mengba Naxi Exotic Garden, Wuyun (“Five Cloud”) Temple, and Puti (Bodhi) Temple.
