Introduction

The bronze Buddha statue in Maha Muni Pagoda is a famous Buddha statue in Myanmar. The locals regard this pagoda as the Buddha's true body and have a sacred status in Myanmar. The bronze Buddha statue was transported here by other places in 1784, and the faithful people attached a thick gold foil to the Buddha statue. There are 6 bronze Khmer bronze statues in the northwest corner of the pavilion surrounding the altar. It is said to be a spoiled piece from the Angkor Wat via the waterway in Thailand.
