Macheng Photo

About Macheng: Macheng is located in northeast Hubei Province, to the north of Huanggang City, on the north shore of the Yangtze River in the southern foothills of the central Dabie Mountains. It is where the three provinces of Hubei, Henan, and Anhui meet. Macheng has a long history and is famous as a base of the Revolution, where the 4th Red Army and 28th Red Army were organized. One of Macheng's outstandingly beautiful scenic spots, Guifeng (“Turtle Peak”) Mountain is covered by ancient rhododendrons that make for a majestic sight that has been called “the largest area of ancient rhododendrons (Rhododendron simsii) in China.”
