Located in the north of Santa Monica, Will Rogers State Beach is very close to the city center, but there are fewer people than other beaches. It is not crowded at all and has convenient transportation. It is the most suitable beach in California for swimming and diving. Don’t miss the water dragon Here.
This is the perfect beach to go to if you just want to be near the ocean relaxing. There is hardly anyone here starting in Sept. when school resumes so it's pretty peaceful. There are even some volleyball nets if you want to be active. Look for free street parking on the hill east of the entrance, but make sure to read all the signs. Otherwise, parking in the beach lot will cost you $10.
This Beach is nice because it's cleaner then Santa Monica, not as crowded, but not as far as some of the other nicer beaches.
Good volleyball. Nice people. Easy parking. (not free)If you want to play, say you know Cary and Allen! You better be good!
I really like this beach - it's a bit out of the way and thus nowhere near as crowded as Santa Monica or even Redondo, parking is a little steep at $12, try to find parking on the street, just watch out not to park too far up the hill, they do enforce parking rules and write tickets.
