You have to do it. The best little hike in LA. We parked at the bottom and walked the street up to the hiking area. We stayed on the trails as requested and were able to get some of the best shots ...
After we parked the car down the hill,we walked up roughly half an hour or little more,it’s been lovely but steep. We actually enjoyed walking more than the sign yet at the top of the road where the Ho...
The Sign is visible from afar, seeing it from a good viewpoint is better than up close, as it is 45 feet high (13.7 meters) when you are close to it you will not be able to view it. There are few loc...

LA is the city of stars without any doubt. The city simply has a special vibe: From the iconic Hollywood sign to the chilled Venice Beach! We always love to visit Los Angeles.

Additional Information
Introduction
The Hollywood sign is an iconic landmark in Los Angeles’ Griffith Park. Built in 1923 by a housing developer, the sign originally read “Hollywoodland” and served as an advertisement for a new development in the Hollywood Hills. It was meant to be a short-term installation, but quickly gained international recognition as the film industry took off. The sign’s uneven layout and stark white lettering have spawned imitations the world over, from Serbia to New Zealand to Indonesia. The city of Los Angeles proved its dedication to the sign in 2010 when a successful city-wide campaign was launched to save the sign and surrounding land from an ambitious developer.

It's a Must... Great pictures can be taken from Griffith Observatory! You can hike, drive or take a tour!
The three routes below, the Mt Hollywood Trail, the Canyon Drive Trail, and the Cahuenga Peak Trail, offer choices for intrepid seekers, stragglers, dreamers, beginners, children, and the moderately well-conditioned.Authorized hiking trails are open the same hours as Griffith Park, from Sunrise to Sunset, 365 days a year. While enjoying hiking, please stay on authorized trails. Please beware of the extreme fire danger on the trails, parts of which are still recovering after a devastating wildfire in 2007. Trespassing is illegal. A LAPD officer is stationed near the Sign, which is protected by a fence and security cameras 24 hours a day. Thank you.
If your a new visitor to Los Angeles, you just have to do the Hollywood Sign. Although you might end up finding out it's a little overrated. But do it for the gram!
The hike is not terribly difficult but not too easy. It took us a bit to figure out where to go. Make sure to a water bottle and know where you're going because you will most likely have no cellphone service if you get lost. This may be obvious to some but, FYI, so you aren't disappointed, people aren't allowed to go up to the actual sign.
