iconic place of pink Floyd album cover picture with a flying pig. A lot of restaurants nearby.
The Battersea Power Station is a decommissioned coal-fired power station located on the south bank of the Thames in London. The power station is one of the largest brick buildings in the world, consisting of two power stations, built in two stages, Batsey A power station between 1929 and 1935, and Batsey B power station on the east side from 1937 to 1955. The design of Batsey B is almost identical to Batsey A, creating an iconic four-chimney structure. Batsey A was decommissioned in 1975. Batsey B closed three years later. In 2012, construction managers signed an agreement to develop the plot, which includes 253 residential units, bars, restaurants, office space, shops and entertainment spaces.
Battersea Power Station is one of the icons of London, when we visit the city we are lucky enough to be able see it from a relatives balcony. On our latest trip to London we walked down to the power station to see the work going on. When finished this will ensure it remains an icon for years to come.
Interesting concept to refurbish the power station into a shopping centre while retaining the old structures.
very interesting place to visit. now it works as a shopping center where they maintained some of the original structure of the power station! very nice !!
