#wheretogo When we heard of Lake Tekapo, New Zealand, only two things came into our minds - stargazing and hotspring. This spot is very photogenic both day and night. It is also art of a UNESCO Dark Sky Reserve, making it the perfect spot for stargazing. During the day, we looked from the beautiful Church of the Good Shepherd across the turquoise coloured lake to the mountainous drama of the Southern Alps. The scenery was stunning！I would advised to get there early in the morning as crowds started to come in the late morning. The legendary night sky in Lake Tekapo offers the perfect opprtunity to spot stars. It is something that we can hardly do in other countries.#timetotravel #newzealand #stargazing

Lake Tekapo- This is probably one of the most visited tourist attraction in New Zealand, and that is because it is really an amazing place to be in. Located at South West of Christchurch in the Mackenzie Basin, Lake Tekapo is a 3 hours scenic drive away from Christchurch. The beauty of Lake Tekapo comes from its crystal blue/turquoise coloured lake, next to the giant mountains in the region. It is no wonder why this place is such a popular place among photographers. A huge highlight would be the Lupins, where the whole Lake Tekapo will be bloomed with it during the Spring to summer season. Next to it, is the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd. Being situated right next to the beautiful Lake Tekapo, it becomes a perfect photo spot due to how everything just looks perfectly fitting to each other. Stay for the night, and you can even take an epic photo of the church together with the Milky Way during a good weather. Each car ticket is $55, and you can drive right up to the top of the mountain to overlook the whole of Queenstown. There are many animals and few tourists, so you can play here all day. ❾ Queenstown·Skyline Take the cable car to the top of the mountain to overlook Queenstown. Although the scenery and value for money are not as good as Deer Park Heights, it's very fun to play on the mountain luge, and taking photos of the cable car and lake together on the mountain is incredibly beautiful. 📌Tips: If it's your first time in New Zealand and you're worried about planning your trip or lack overseas driving experience, I recommend choosing a group tour.

Far from towns and with less light pollution, the majestic Mount Cook makes the starry sky atmosphere even more serene and spectacular. 👍 Most Recommended: Stewart Island Officially rated as the world's fifth International Dark Sky Reserve and the second island reserve. It is uninhabited and closest to Antarctica, so the sky is exceptionally pure.
