This is a funny little place Ive been here a few times, well more than a few I go to Japanese language classes there every week. The thing is sometimes its a bit weak and then other times its awesome ...
Imai Town has been around since the Edo period as a Terauchi Town (the temple and town are integrated and prevents invasion of foreign enemies by moats). It can be said that 500 traditional residences are crowded in a range of less than 1 kilometers, and the city itself has been inherited. Imai Town is of course an important preservation area for buildings, but I think it is one of the few places in Japan where so many residences are preserved, such as the Imanishi family, the Toyota family, and the Nakahashi family. May 13, 2023 ~ Until 21st, "26th Imai Townscape Walk" was held, and on Sunday, 21st, I learned that "Tea Procession" would be held for the first time in four years.

I watched it for the first time when I learned that the "Tea Procession" will be held on May 13, 2023 ~ 21st and will be held on Sunday, 21st for the first time in 4 years (see attached photo). Usually [Imai Town] has a quiet atmosphere, but on the day of the event, フリーマーケット, which reproduced "Imai Rokusai City", which was held in [Imai Town], was held, and "Imai Town Shuichi" was also held. Know a special day Was done. As much as possible next year, "Imai Townscape Walk" ...
Even the utility poles are buried and houses 80% or more are left in Edo. Isn't this splendid house unique in Japan? The parking lot is adjacent to the cityscape.
In the Imaimachi district of Kashihara City, old folk houses like a set of historical dramas remain. Moreover, people 々 still live there. Some houses designated as cultural properties and some of the interiors are open to the public, so it's a good idea to spend time hanging out. If you go by train, you can walk from Yagi Nishiguchi Station in Kintetsu.
