Jishou Travel Guide

Jishou is located in the hinterland of the Wuling Mountains. It is the capital of the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture and a county-level city in Hunan Province. The city has a variety of museums and attractions that reflect the history and culture of the Miao people. The famous scenic spots include Dehang, Qianzhou Ancient City, and the Aizhai Extra Large Suspension Bridge. There are three things that you have to see when visiting Jishou. The first is the daily life of the Miao ethnic group, the second is the high gorge waterfalls, and the third is the underground karst caves.

#wondersofchina # Aizhai bridge , Aizhai Suspension Bridge is located in Aizhai Grand Canyon, about 20km from Jishou City, Aizhai Suspension Bridge is honored to be one of the greatest engineering wonders, with length of 1073.65 meters. The bridge looks like a flying dragon lying between two large mountains. The wonders of Aizhai, include the bridge, strange road, queer valley, odd waterfall and customs. Aizhai, Dehang and Dragon cave, whose total area are 108 square kilometers. With the super large suspension bridge crossing canyon opening to traffic on the March 31, 2012.

About 30km or so outside of Jishou in Xiangxi, Hunan province sits a small park that’s filled with multiple waterfalls lining the sides of the canyon area. Getting There - Jishou town is connected via a high-speed train and sits on the line to Zhangjiajie so, if you can get the train to Zhangjiajie then you’ll be able to get a high speed to Jishou. Attractions - old town/ canyon area. Food & Restaurants - food places are quite few and far between when it comes to notable places so I would highly recommend having some coffee drip cup things so you don’t rely on a café for your caffeine. #thisischina #nationalpark #naturalwonders
