About Jinghong: The capital of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province, Jinghong (景洪) City lies at the southern tip of the province and in the middle of the prefecture. The Lancang/Mekong River, nicknamed “the Danube of the East,” flows through this prefecture. Jinghong is also the central city participating in the China–Thailand–Burma–Old Lancang/Mekong River Subregional International Cooperation Economic Zone plan. Famous attractions here include Manting (曼听) Park, the Tropical Flower Garden, Mengle (勐泐) Buddhist Temple, Virgin Forest Park, and Wild Elephant Valley.
