SLioy"A wonderful local hangout, a teahouse with a view, a coffee shop on top of the city. Camlica is, admittedly, a bit of a pain to get to from the major tourist sites of Istanbul. If you do make the effort, on a clear warm day with few other plans, be prepared to sit around chatting and playing cards for hours at a time. Do as locals do – slowly sip a strong cup of tea while catching up on news and gossip, people watching, or just passing the time as the hours come and go."
Galata Mevlevi Museum
Daniel Kozin"Known as the Galata Mevlevi Museum, this is an old Sufi Dervish lodge founded in the 15th century. It includes a complex with courtyard, cemetery, and the monastery, now converted into a museum of Sufism. This is one of the only places in Turkey where you can learn about the monastic order, with clothing and artifacts of the Sufi order on display. The most interesting sight is the whirling Dervish ceremony that is sometimes held here."
Pierre Loti Tepesi
GLS***53"I love this place. There's a little store where you can buy Pierre Loti books in several languages, and the view is amazing. It's a bit difficult to get to, but worth it."
