The sluice is one of the earliest, largest and best preserved wooden structure sluice sites in China. The glass protective cover of the existing cultural relics sites is protected in situ and is open to the public for free visits. The Nanyue National Sluice Site was declared as a municipal cultural relic protection unit by the Guangzhou Municipal Government in 2002. In May 2006, it was declared a state-level cultural relic protection unit. However, there are more staff here than tourists. Moreover, the lighting of the exhibition hall here is rather dim, and it is difficult to see the site of the sluice through the glass protective cover.

The entire negative floor of the square is now opened as a museum of heritage sites. The sluices are completely enclosed with reinforced concrete walls, and a 700 square meter glass protective layer is kept at constant temperature and humidity for people to visit. The surrounding area is a display corridor for cultural relics, showing the excavation process and unearthed cultural relics of the site through various ways such as pictures, texts and 3D animations. Since the sluice is a whole wood structure, it is especially important for the protection of wood. Special preservatives are used to treat the sluice wood for corrosion and insect control. Two pumping wells are also drilled around the sluice, and when the groundwater reaches a certain height, it will be automatically pumped away to prevent water from seeping into the sluice.

South Vietnam Guoshuiguan Site is a very good scenic spot, free transportation is very convenient, but also has a certain degree of visibility. This scenic spot is located on Beijing Road, the hottest pedestrian street in Guangzhou, just down the Guangming Square. It's totally free. You can see the ancient wood-made, the most well-preserved water conservancy site in the world. Actually, like the sluice now, the wisdom of the ancients so many years ago was just like that. It was really not easy.

Thirty-three years (214 B.C.) in Panyu, Qin Shihuang expanded Zhaotuo, king of South Vietnam, into a capital city (now Yuexiu Mountain, Xianggang Mountain area) ten years later. In April 2000, 600 square meters were excavated between Huifu East Road and Xihu Lake, and the ruins of wooden sluice gates in South Vietnam (south of the capital of South Vietnam) were found. Nearby, the ruins of Eastern Han Dynasty, Shuijing in Southern Dynasty, Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty were also found. This is another important archaeological discovery after the discovery of the Nanyue Palace and the Palace Garden Site in the area of Zhongyou Street from 1974 to 1995.
