Guan Yin Temple is an ancient temple in Penang, built in 1800 by the first batch of immigrants from Fujian and Guangdong who immigrated to Penang. The temple is not very big and not particularly majestic. However, it is deeply valued and welcomed by the Chinese, and it is still the place where Chinese people on the island place their beliefs. The temple is always surrounded by incense mist, and there are always a steady stream of believers who come to burn paper money and incense.
