It is a shimmering white tower topped by a century-old bell tower with a Moorish dome. This big clock tower was funded and built in 1897 by a Chinese businessman from Penang, Tse, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Queen Victoria's reign. The clock tower has been more than a hundred years old and belongs to the historical buildings in Penang Island. The great clock tower is 18 meters (60 feet) high, and one foot represents one year of the Queen's reign and symbolizes the 60th anniversary of Queen Victoria. The clock tower has a total of four floors, the first floor is octagonal, the second and third floors are square, the top floor is a dome that shows Islamic design, and the big bell is built on all sides of the third floor.
