Malaysia Island Hopping Tour Money Saving Tips
This time, the trip to Malaysia is not long,
I decided to take a vacation in Sabah✨,
Highly recommend island hopping, not too many people and the water is clear.
It fulfilled all my fantasies about the islands😝.
Staring at the sea, walking on the beach and building sandcastles⛪,
Snorkeling to see fish🐠, and playing some water activities,
It's so cool, so relaxing!🎈
As a trip that requires a lot of self-selection,
I suggest you take a look at this guide🌟, save money and avoid pitfalls.
👉About Island Hopping:
①There are 5 islands around Sabah, the most popular are Sapi Island, Manukan Island, Mamutik Island, I chose the first two. The speedboat will take you to the island for free activities, if there are water activities or island hopping, there will be guides to call.
🏝Sapi Island: Highly recommended here👍The sand is fine, the water is clear and there are many fish. The fish are mainly concentrated near the green buoy a little far from the shore. I played parasailing here.
🏝Manukan Island: There are more people, and there are fewer types of fish than Sapi Island. It is recommended to snorkel under the pier, where there are many fish. I played banana boat and flying fish here.
🏝Mamutik Island: The island is very small and only half of it has been developed, and there are not many people and there are restaurants. If you have time, you can go here another day.
②Island hopping is really not the more islands you go to in one day, the better‼️
Don't get up early, arrive at "Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal" at 10:30 (buy tickets and leave immediately when there are enough people), and take the last boat back at 16:00. It is recommended to choose 2 islands or it is also very good to play slowly on one island, otherwise it is always in transit🚤.
👉Window selection & bargaining
Windows 1-3 are a family, I booked here. It is said that window 7 can speak Chinese, but some friends feedback that the service is not good: before playing the banana boat, there is no prompt to change clothes and the boat will turn over, just throw people into the sea🙈.
💰Each window has a uniform price, and cannot be bargained:
①The boat fare is 35RM for one island, and 10RM is added for each additional island. You can add it if you want to book one first.
②The island fee is 25RM/person, no matter how many islands you go to, you only need to pay once, and you must keep the ticket.
③Parasailing full-course Gopro video + photo 65RM/person, no matter how you bargain, it won't work. After watching the film, it was really well recorded, so I bought it.💡It is recommended to download the material locally!
💰Can be bargained: water activities.
I said I wanted to play parasailing + banana boat after I arrived on the island, the original 161RM, talked to 100, it is said that there seems to be a deal of 85.
💰Don't rent: life jacket.
Whether you can swim or not, ask you if you want it, just say no. Because you must wear a life jacket when taking a speedboat, you can take it to the island to play, and return it when you come back. If you rent it, you will spend more money.
🎒Suggest to bring:
Sunscreen/mud, hat, sunglasses, mobile phone waterproof bag, swimsuit, slippers, towel, simple lunch, drinking water.
The water is clearer and there are many fish compared to other nearby islands. The water depth of the beach is so deep that it seems that a lot of young children come with them. A herd of monkeys lives on the island.
Among the East Guadalaman National Park, Shabi is the most popular island among the Chinese. Shabi Island is the smallest area among the five islands, but the most tourists are not completely unreasonable. The water sports are very rich, the water quality is relatively clear, suitable for snorkeling to see fish, there are relatively complete infrastructure, locker rooms and shower rooms are available.
About 15 minutes or so, for people who are seasick or don't want to be tired of boating and caring, you can consider it! The round-trip ticket is 23+7 (taxes), and the ticket to the island is 20, which is equivalent to a person's 40 fee. This game is really the most economical and leisurely recommendation! I like it very much.
This island is actually included in Tunku Abdul Rahman's marine park. So if you want to go here, you can actually go to another island (like Manukan). But if Manukan is famous for its scenery, this place is also famous for its many fish. So if you want to snorkel by the beach, it's fun.
This time, I stayed at 63 hotels in Sabah, and walked very close to the pier, about 15 minutes, but there was no sidewalk. It was not very easy to walk. There are many companies on this side of the dock that sell jump island tours. They pick one at random and bargain for about $25 a person on a Sabi Island. What's more inconvenient for freelancers is that no one tells you what to do next and you have to ask yourself. In fact, you have to wait until the people from the company you bought come to call you on board. It feels easy to miss. Shabi Island is very close to the wharf, about 20 minutes before the spaceship arrives. On the way, there will be a group of passengers on Kaya Island. Then they will go to Shabi Island. The water on the island is still clear, the sand on the shore is fine, and there will not be many coral reefs. Although there are many people, the beach is not too dirty. Free fresh water showers are available on the island. Oh, by the way, I was told to pay a maintenance fee after I went to the island, which was not included in the previous prepaid fee.
After a bargain at the Jeston Wharf, you can buy a ticket to the island, and then you need to set the return time. We have two small bargaining after 80 Ma, for your reference. Pay Island tax after going to the island. Keep all the bills. Bring your own lunch to eat, you can save a little. There are several cafeterias on the island, but they are on the high side. There are shark nets on the beach. Playing on the beach, you can attract a group of brightly colored fish with bread. The toilets and bathing facilities on the island are of the simplicity level. There are monkeys and lizards. You can also participate in self-paid marine projects on the island, which will inform you of the time of departure. All in all, it's a really cost-effective amusement island.
Going at the end of December, the rainy season is not suitable for diving at this time, not because of safety issues, but because of the relationship of ocean currents underwater. Now the sea under the island is more turbid, compared with April to August, the underwater scenery is much worse! Say you must come back in April and May to really have a good look at the underwater scenery. Shabi Island can be seen everywhere wildlife is around you, wild boar, giant python, in fact, it is not dangerous at all, they come out here to see, there to see, occasionally steal other people's table of things to eat, slip away, haha, like an open zoo~ very fun~
We went with the group, so everything was arranged by the travel agency. The bus arrived at the wharf of the speedboat, and then took the lifejacket to the speedboat. It arrived at Shapi Island in about 15 minutes. The cost is not very clear, but the water is clear and the heart of beauty is intoxicated. In the clear sea, you can also see many small fish swimming around. The blue water is in several colors. It's amazing. Travel agencies have arranged places for rest. They can go swimming, snorkeling (free snorkeling equipment) and take photos by themselves. Other items are charged extra: paragliding, flying fish, banana boats, deep diving, underwater walks, etc. The sand here is relatively white, and it's comfortable to walk barefoot. There are some rocks nearby. It's very beautiful to take pictures. There is BBQ on the island. The cost is not clear because it is included in the group fee. It tastes good and there are many things to choose.
