Eurotower

The European Central Bank headquarters in Frankfurt is a 40-storey skyscraper. The 12 yellow stars of the Euro Tower on the square symbolize the 12 countries that decided to use the euro before 2002.

The Euro Tower, Eurotower, is one of the landmarks of Frankfurt. The 40-story skyscraper (39th and 5th floor basements) is located in the Bank District of Frankfurt, Hesse, Kaiserstrae 29. The skyscraper was completed in 1977 and was used as the headquarters of the European Monetary Authority, the predecessor of the European Central Bank. The European Central Bank was established in 1998 and the skyscraper is one of the office buildings; on March 18, 2015, the European Central Bank moved to the newly built twin skyscrapers (Frankfurt Ruckertstrasse). The European Central Bank was established under the Maastricht Treaty of 1992, also known as the Treaty of the European Union, including the Treaty of Economic and Monetary Union and the Treaty of Political Union.
