Warsaw

Almost entirely demolished by the Nazis during World War II. Warsaw has since risen from the ashes and re established itself as the capital of Poland. Not surprisingly, postwar architecture of Warsaw is rather bleak, a legacy of the Soviet Union’s iron grip on the region. However, the Polish rebuilt the historical old town in the ŚRódmieśCore (inner city) district, with beautiful buildings such as the Palace of Culture and Science (a complex with two universities, several theaters, a museum and a concert hall), the Royal Castle, the Castle Square and the Polish Parliament. The area also caters to history buff with a variety of museums such as the Warsaw History Museum and the Frederick Chopin Museum.
