It feels like stepping into another era. 🏛️ Roman Aqueduct The Aqueduct of Segovia is the city’s most iconic landmark. Built during the Roman period, its enormous stone arches stand proudly in the heart of the city and are remarkably well preserved. 🏰 Alcázar of Segovia The magnificent Alcázar is perhaps Segovia’s most magical sight. Rising dramatically above the landscape, with pointed towers and stone walls, it looks like a real-life fairytale castle. 🏰 ⛪ Segovia Cathedral Located in the beautiful Plaza Mayor, this impressive Gothic cathedral is known for its elegant towers and detailed architecture. It is often called “The Lady of the Cathedrals.” 🚶 Old Town Wandering through Segovia’s narrow medieval streets is an experience in itself. You’ll find historic houses, small plazas, ancient churches, traditional restaurants, and beautiful viewpoints. 🌄 Viewpoints For one of the best views of the Alcázar, head to Mirador de la Pradera de San Marcos. The castle rising above the greenery is especially beautiful around sunset. 🌅 🍽️ What to try Segovia is famous for its traditional cochinillo asado (roast suckling pig), a local specialty. You can also try ponche segoviano, a delicious traditional dessert. 📅 Best time to visit Spring and autumn are ideal for comfortable weather and beautiful scenery. A day trip from Madrid is also very easy, although staying overnight allows you to experience the city after the day-trippers leave.
