Anxi

Anxi County is located on the coast of southeast Fujian Province, in the northwest of the Minnan Golden Triangle that links Xiamen, Zhangzhou, and Quanzhou. Anxi is the birthplace of China's famous Tieguanyin (“Iron Goddess of Mercy”) oolong tea, so a unique Anxi tea culture has developed. Qingshuiyan (清水岩) is located on Mount Penglai in northwest Anxi County and was built during the Northern Song dynasty (960-1127) to honor the Chan Buddhist monk Qingshui. There are many ancient ruins in Qingshuiyan as well as breathtaking natural scenery. There is also the Anxi Confucius Temple and the Fengshan (“Phoenix Mountain”) Scenic Tourism Area.
