This is a nice local museum. If you visit, be sure to also check out the outside exhibits which includes a number of old buildings and some old mining equipment at the very back.

This is the place to go if you want to get the history of this area. It's very inclusive, covers the indigenous people in the area, the mining period, State of Jefferson information, most interesting...

Worth a visit

We came here today and really enjoyed all that the museum has to offer. It takes about 1 hour to go through but it’s worth it. Make sure you also visit the outside displays.

Have Time to Explore

Lots to see especially about local native Americans. Place closes at 3 so give yourself time. It took 4 visits before I timed it right. It was worth the wait.

Exceeds expectations for a small town museum. Indoor and outdoor exhibits. Helpful staff. Plan on 1 to 2 hours.
