Dayang Bunting, Langkawi, also known as the 'Pregnant Maiden Lake' as the picturesque view of a spot of the lake-side hill looks like as if a pregnant woman is lying. It is said that an ancient princess gave birth to a boy baby and the infant boy died within a week of its birth. It’s a beautiful clear water beach (much better than Cenang beach for sunbathing). This island tour was part of a island hopping tour package that we booked from Langkawi Cenang beach. The direct translation of Pula Dayang Bunting is "Pregnant Maiden Island" in English. From a distance you can see that the island is in the shape of a sleeping pregnant lady. Locals believe that those who has difficulties conceiving should drink from the lake on the island. The island is quite big (more than 13 km long), it is the second largest in the entire Langkawi archipelago. There is a geopark and a beautiful lake on the territory of the island, it can be explored for more than one day. The island of pregnant women is the largest island in Langkawi. The island is called so because the mountains and prominent rocky outlines of the lake look like a pregnant woman lying on her back. In the morning, I took a boat from Zhenan Pier and arrived at Pregnant Island in about 15 minutes. However, we did not go directly to the island. Instead, we stopped for a photo on the way. The young man on the boat also told us the origin of the name of the pregnant island. From the point of view of the docking, it is possible to clearly distinguish the mountain-shaped contour of the pregnant island. The scenery here is fascinating, the island is full of green plants, and the sea and sky are a beautiful blue.

Langkawi's itinerary is very relaxed, basically playing in the water at the hotel, going out to play in the water by boat, speeding along the mountain roads in a small car, and stopping to stroll on the beach to see the sea. Stay: Chose the Westin with a pool Villa, which proved to be a correct choice. The hotel scenery is very nice, but the 'beach' after the tide is black mud, not suitable for playing in the water. When not wanting to go out, spend time in the private pool, snacking, and enjoying the view. Saw a beautiful sunset and moonrise on Mid-Autumn night, worth the price. Travel: After getting off the plane, rented a locally produced small car at the airport, the rent is about over a hundred RMB a day, the power is also good; the attractions on the island are scattered, if you want to wander around, renting a car is more convenient. The price of oil is also very cheap, RM2 per litre, equivalent to 3 RMB per litre, jaw-dropping, specially took a photo to record. (PS The direction of the car is opposite to that in China, be careful!) Play: Inevitably participated in the island hopping itinerary. One is Pregnant Maiden Island - Wet Rice Island - Sea Fishing BBQ, the sea water is not clean, many people chose not to go into the water, but catching some colorful small fish is also fun. Buy: Local chocolate is indeed cheaper than Kuala Lumpur, if you like to eat, you can buy some. The locals recommended a local specialty sea cucumber oil, said to be good for muscle soreness and skin moisturizing, tried it, woke up and the calf seems to be not so sour, but the taste is very sour and refreshing, emitting a seafood smell all over. A couple of interesting things: On the last day, the car had to be returned, so didn't want to add too much oil, went to the gas station to ask how much oil can be added at least, the answer was 10, thinking about if you drive to the gas station in China and say add 10 yuan, you would probably get beaten up, haha! The monkey king in the mangrove jumped onto our boat to eat bread, was very nervous, because had suffered from the monkeys in Emei Mountain! Asked the guide if the monkey would snatch my things, the guide said Malaysia is a small place, competition is not so intense, animals are very gentle. Thinking about it, it makes sense, it seems to be the same for people. When going for the island hopping tour, pieces of garbage kept floating on the sea. Asked the guide why not clean up, the guide said can't clean up all, all are blown from Thailand, in a few days the wind direction will change and will blow back to Thailand.
